South: Natal 9, Annual 7 & Monthly 8 Season: Middle of Winter.
The heat of the south is tempered by the coolness of the winter month so its effect on the 7 metal may not be so bad. The production cycle here seems to be complete with the 9 Fire producing 8 Earth in turn producing 7 Metal, think harmonious, smooth flow, and an effort to getting along. The 8 here plays the role of arbitrator between the fiery 9 and sensitive 7. Those Gua 9 people who may have had small injuries due to the monthly 7 but possibly enjoyed some element of wealth as well, have a super month ahead with the cycle complete. (wealth without output is not true wealth) and here we have output, not any ordinary output but a spectacular # 8 Wang Qi star!
Suggestions: I would chance using small yin water to activate the 8 and reap its benefits, violation of direct spirit is okay for a short burst of time. Pick a good hexagram (for XKDG enthusiasts, use one that matches the structure of your main door) If you don’t know XKDG, simple pick a nice one, personally I love Consistency at approximately 200 degrees, and also love the Cauldron at 195 or any of the South hexagrams are good, so you could safely plop your water anywhere in the south excepting one hexagram: Eliminating, that I would give a miss to (approx. 169-174 degrees) as it is pretty useless.
South-West: Natal 2, Annual 9 & Monthly 1 Season: Middle of Winter.
Who can argue with a combo 10, formed by the annual and monthly stars! Simply tells you that one can use this sector if you want to make things happen, and close all pending matters. The annual 9, part of this combo 10, gives you a chance to make future-related plans into action as 9 is the Sheng Qi (upcoming period 9, in 8 years)
Apart from the obvious technical fact that there is a combo 10, and the presence of the Sheng Qi star, one must not forget the inherent inter-action of the 2-9, causing “blindness” or the inability to “see”, clouded vision and confusion and in fact not really helped by the addition of water (monthly 1), so proceed with caution and you will be safe.
Further, although the annual 9 actually scorches the 2 yin earth, not produce it, but in winter, you have some reprieve, as the cool of winter reduces the heat of the annual 9 and we actually have good stuff happening here. Use this sector happily and Gua 2 folks, proceed with a bit of caution and this should be a great month for you.
Suggestions: Place Yang water, as large as possible using a hexagram that fits your XKDG structure, but if you don’t know how to do this, just blindly go for 222 degrees, Rising hexagram, or Relief at around 245 degrees and you should be fine. (just be careful as Relief is on the border of West and Southwest, and you should not accidentally set off the West and piss off the 5 yellow in the West. By the way, the South West has the worst concentration of lousy hexagrams, Litigation, Poison, Trap and so on, so don’t randomly place water in the generic South west as you may activate a lousy hexagram and have to live with the consequences of the outcome. Finally don’t activate SW1, it has the Grand Duke, so no renovation, repair, activation.
West: Natal 7, Annual 5 & Monthly 6 Season: Middle of Winter.
Quite easily voted the lousiest sector of the year, this month is not much better. Nothing much to say, don’t use it, make sure the salt water cure is in place, and you don’t repair or disturb it. Gua 7 people, thank the Good Lord there is barely two months of this crap year left to go through, keeping in mind next month has the monthly 5 keeping the annual 5 company, all the best!
Suggestions: if you have a choice don’t use this sector, if you have no choice, make sure the salt cure is firmly in place.
North-West: Natal 6, Annual 4 & Monthly 5 Season: Middle of Winter.
While the annual 4 makes a combo 10 with the natal 6, and has made this quite favored sector this year, the 5 this month makes it a bit less desirable.
A tip: with a safe sector like this, you can activate the monthly 5 for a really short short while by placing slow – moving small small water (1 liter + tiniest fish-tank pump) for two weeks, supposed to create wealth, plus minor health issues as the side effect, take chances at your own risk.
North: Natal 1, Annual 8 & Monthly 9 Season: Middle of Winter.
A sector of choice in December the three most desirable stars collected in one sector, use and enjoy.
Suggestions: all can use this sector without reservations. East group people can use this as a direction to point your head while sleeping, or to face while working, west group people be content with using the sector only. Gua 1 people, have a great month ahead so look at achieving your wildest dreams, the 1+9 combo 10 is working for you.
North-East: Natal 8, Annual 6 & Monthly 7 Season: Middle of Winter.
When both the output stars of a palace show up together, it can be tiring to say the least. Gua 8 people must be quite exhausted, or will be this month. The sector itself may cause bickering due to the clashing of yin and yang metal 6 & 7 so is possible avoid specifically using it, but nothing to lose, nothing to gain.
Suggestions: None. Neutral. Indifferent. If you are in an acrimonious relationship, this is the month you keep you mouth totally shut and be non- reactive. It will pass, I promise.
East: Natal 3, Annual 1 & Monthly 2 Season: Middle of Winter.
While theoretically 1 and 2 make a muddy wet mess, it takes the strength of a 3 to clear it, and with the wealth star #2 coming to the East, Gua 3’s can look forward to making a fair bit of money. #2 comes along with its own side-show of minor health issues but can be easily handled, think bad tummy, body-ache, that level of “sick”.
Suggestions: Highly recommended as an area to use, especially if you are a Gua 3. All can use the sector, and I suggest East group people use E2 and West group people use E1 and E3 to point their head while sleeping or face their desks. Placement of a generous amount of water, is highly recommended if you have the guts to face minor health issues. After all you know the saying “too much wealth is not good for your health”.
There are many good hexagrams you can use in the East excepting the one approximately 95-100 degrees, Decreasing. You can use Abundance, my personal favorite, on the border of E1 and NE3 or any of the others, they are all good, but it’s best if you can actually match the hexagram using XKDG principles to your house structure.
South-East: Natal 4, Annual 2 & Monthly 3 Season: Middle of Winter.
#2 and #3, when they come together, means quick money. It is amazing how true this is but with the natal 4 lurking in the shadows, this money has to be shared (#3 and #4 fighting for the annual #2) All year the 4 natal star in the SE has had access to the annual 2, its Indirect Wealth star. This month, it sees the monthly 4 which is akin to a competitor going for the same wealth. Share if it suits you, or guard fiercely if that’s what you want, best is to defer all decisions for a while, but in the next month, look out, its not that the 3 is any kinder in January.
Suggestions: Use if the particular star setup is what you need, but don’t freak out, it’s a benign situation.
A caveat: don’t put water in every good sector, choose one only, and that to judiciously. When placing water use the flowing factors to help make up your mind:
- Is there a good feature in the external that you would like to pull in the Qi from?
- Is there an opening so the Qi can flow in easily?
- Is that sector beneficial to your own Ming Gua?
- Is it an auspicious sector of the house?
- Is it relatively uncomplicated to execute?
Weigh the pros and cons before you decide to place the water, multiple water features have to be executed with a lot of precision and you are better off with using one correctly, so as not confuse the Qi.
