India and Mexico united by ART.

Within the frame of HOLA México 2016, Feng Shui Course in Merida, Yucatán we have invited two artists to exhibit their work in our site: one from India (Yang), and one from Mexico (Yin) Please allow me to introduce first the yang component of our guesting dynamic duo, Mukesh Trivedi. Born and brought up in the scenic Powai, a suburban neighbourhood located in the northeast of Mumbai, India, this talented self-taught artist became passionate about professional photography long time ago, since forever according to him. His pictures have been widely published in a number of renown international photo-magazines. As photo-journalist his sensitive view has found place in the DNA Newspaper, the Indian Express Newspaper, India Today Magazine, Gujarat Samachar Newspaper, and many more.  He won the «Best Picture of the Year Award» organised by the Photographic Society of India (PSI) and his art has been exhibited in several Indian art galleries. India y Mexico unidos a través del ARTE. 

Dentro del marco del proyecto HOLA México 2016, Curso de Feng Shui en Mérida, Yucatán hemos decidido invitar a dos artistas locales a exhibir su obra en este sitio; uno de la India (Yang) y otro de México (Yin) Permítanme presentar primero al componente yang del dúo dinámico huésped, Mukesh Trivedi. Nacido y criado en Powai, un asentamiento suburbano situado al noreste de Mumbai, India, este talentoso auto-didacta abrazó la profesión de fotógrafo casi desde que nació. Sus fotos han sido publicadas ampliamente en un sinnúmero de revistas especializadas y otras publicaciones internacionales. En su papel como foto-periodista, su trabajo ha encontrado cabida en muchísimos diarios de publicación nacional como el DNA Newspaper, the Indian Express Newspaper, India Today Magazine, Gujarat Samachar Newspaper, por citar sólo algunos. Ha sido reconocido varias veces con el premio «Best Picture of the Year» organizado por la Sociedad Fotográfica de la India (PSI por sus siglas en ingles) y su obra más sensible ha sido exhibida en diversas galerías de arte de la India. Bueno, pues aquí tienen por fin a Guadalupe González Chávez; el elemento Yin de la ecuación. Guadalupe es fotógrafa profesional y amiga personal mía (ND), lo cual me enorgullece porque esta mujer es la neta del planeta. Pero, dejémosla hablar: «Soy fotógrafa, profesora y comunicóloga.
 Me gusta expresarme por medio de las imágenes, usar su lenguaje y todo lo que se refiera a la comunicación visual.

La docencia, la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales me ha dado la oportunidad de compartir mi experiencia profesional y de aprender con los alumnos de la licenciatura de Ciencias de la Comunicación, en talleres sobre Fotografía, Diseño Publicitario y Creatividad. La capacidad de asombro, de ejecutar y resolver retos es una las actividades que más impulso en las clases. Cursar la maestría en Artes Visuales en la Academia de San Carlos, me dio la visión de ser creadora de imágenes.

Mi experiencia profesional en el Canal 40 (Proyecto 40) y en el Festival de la Ciudad de las Ideas me ha enseñado a trabajar en equipo. Las sesiones en estudio y la creación de stock fotográfico para la imagen corporativa de un canal de televisión con salida a pantalla, para-buses y redes sociales es uno de mis mejores ejemplos del trabajo que durante 9 años desarrollé en esa empresa, hasta la última campaña de imagen (2015) que actualmente se puede ver en las calles.
 Mis proyectos fotográficos en la parte autoral abordan los temas de la auto-representación, la muerte y el duelo.»

Oookeey, here we go again. Please meet Guadalupe González, the Yin element of the equation. Guadalupe is a professional photographer and personal friend of mine (ND), which makes me proud because this woman totally rocks. She prepared for us a brief introduction of her persona. Let’s hear her talk: «I’m a photographer, professor and communications expert. I like to express myself through images, use their language and everything that relates to visual communication.

The School of Political and Social Sciences has given me the opportunity to share my experience and also learn with students of the Bachelor of Communication Sciences, in workshops on Photography, Advertising Design and Creativity. Things that I most value and encourage in younger people are the capacity for wonder, and the courage to confront and solve challenges. The master in Visual Arts at the Academy of San Carlos gave me a vision and a purpose: create images.

My professional experience in TV-Channel 40 (Projecto 40) and as Festival of Ideas organiser taught me the high value of teamwork. Studio sessions and the making of professional corporate image campaigns for television channels and social networking is one of the best examples of the work I developed during nine years in the company, to the last image campaign (2015) which currently can be seen in the streets. My photo solo-projects as an artist address the issues of self-representation, death and mourning.»
